EzineMark has a pretty interesting article regarding how much salary a Java developer can possibly earn. The scope for a Java developer is vast. A Java developer is required to design, develop and implement Java applications to web based platforms to meet business requirements. Depending upon his experience and expertise, a Java developer can find employment in entry level, middle level as well as in the senior level positions.

The Java Developer may need to create design documents, code programs, test performance and undertake thorough debugging activities to ensure smooth performance of the Java application. Based on your years of experience and place you are residing in, your salary as a Java developer may vary between $55k and $97k.

The current average salary of a Java developer in USA is around $82,000. Post recession the information technology jobs are returning once again to the market, which include Java employment too. The demand for Java developers has increased within the industry. Hence, if you are aspiring as a Java developer here is how you can improve your earning potential,

Education: Certification as a Java programmer would let you receive better consideration from prospective employers. Along with it, you may also update your knowledge in working in a framework, such as- Struts or JSF. No knowledge in Framework would limit your ability as a Java developer.

Update: As a programmer it is important to update yourself constantly with the changing demand of the businesses to make yourself quintessential for the industry. This’ll also help you stay in focus of your employer and improve your earning potential.

Search: Keep yourself updated on the keywords that appear in the job postings for Java developers. This will help you determine the skills in demand. You may try to incorporate those keywords in your resume to improve its visibility.

Job portals: Post your resume to some good job portals. There are special job portals available now only for IT professionals. If you are looking into IT career, these job portals will be your best bet as they would let you customize your search.

There has been much talking that Java is dead but in reality it is flourishing. In fact, currently there has been a dearth of good Java developers in the market and therefore the demand is also very high. Hence, if you are good at what you do, you can really get your worth as a Java developer.

Part of this method is taken from an existing post I published on how to capitalize the first letter of every sentence in a String using Java. I used the same logic to incorporate it into the contents of a Document object.

While I used StyledDocument in the title of my post, this can actually work on other kind of documents like HTMLDocument. You just need to add a DocumentListener to the document object and pass the DocumentEvent as the parameter.

This post has nothing related to technology. It is Christmas after all so I want to great all readers and visitors a Merry Christmas to you! Enjoy the Holidays!
