How To Create Folders In iOS4

One of the new features in iOS4 (the operating system that runs the iPhone 4 and iTouch 4th generation includes the ability to use folders to group several applications together.

To create a folder with iOS4, follow the steps given below:

Step 1: Click and Hold any app with your finger till it begins shaking.

Step 2: Drag any app and drop it on another app which you want to put in a folder. You can continue this process till you have added all the apps you want to the folder.

Step 3: To create new folders, just repeat Step 2.

The folder feature in iOS4 is really useful and will allow you to club similar apps together making it easier to find and open apps. However, a folder can only store up to 12 applications. I expected it to be able to store an unlimited amount of applications but I was wrong.

Guess this is better than none. I am sure future versions of the operating system will have better features than this one.

  1. Very helpful tip even though I am running Android instead of iPhone, don’t know this trick will exist on my Samsung.

PS: smartphones shoule be equipped with such detailed functions, it will sure increase the UE. Just take a try: if all the icons are put on the desktop, sometimes it will be a suffering for users to look for a specific one.

  2. @mac data recovery: android already has that feature way before the ios did so you should be able to create folders there. i just dont know how though, i dont own an android phone 😉

it was what the ios mainly lacked in its previous os version.
