Apple Unveils New iMac

This just in from PDN Online. Apple unveiled its newest iMac computers this morning, which feature revamped quad-core processors, new graphics engines, high-speed Thunderbolt I/O ports, and a new FaceTime HD built-in camera.

According to Apple (yes, according to them), the new iMacs are up to 70 percent faster than the previous model and the new graphics card delivers up to three times the performance of its predecessor. The new iMac features quad-core Intel Core i5 processors with an option to choose Core i7 processors with up to 3.4 GHz.

Are you going to buy this one? Hmm … no matter how fast this one is, I ain’t going to buy any Apple products when it comes to desktop purposes. It will still be a PC.

For those who are interested, Apple iMacs start at $1,199 for the base model. Good luck finding one you like ;).

  1. The new model is up to 70 percent faster than the previous model. This will be one of attractions which will make some users put the hands on their pockets.

  2. @John Z: not so sure about this. i for one am definitely not attracted to this kind of hardware design. i prefer a laptop instead.

  3. Quite reasonable. To be honest I am not iMac’s potential customers either. But who knows? Maybe those Mac lovers and Mac app developers will be interested to hear this.
