Good thing Google finally released a Google Analytics app for Android. Other mock offs did not really offer a good user interface and data that I really needed.
While Google’s app is not really complete with the same features that you see in the web version, currently it has met my needs.
The app shows what is new and what is important on your Google Analytics profiles. See real time statistics, customizable dashboards and intelligence events on your phone.
I know Google will add more enhances in the coming months and years as the app matures. What I would love to see is the location details in the real time section. I am very happy that they included the real time portion because it is what I always keep track of. However, I also need to look at which locations are currently accessing my site.
I hope Google will add this in their next release right away. Still, I have no reason to complain considering that this app is free. So, thank you very much Google for this.
Google Analytics may sometimes display country data where it says (not set). According to the Google Analytics’ help section, this is what they say:
“Google Analytics uses your visitors’ IP address to determine where they are located geographically. Using a 3rd-party datasource, the IP address is translated to a physical location. In most cases, Google Analytics is able to determine where your visitors are coming from; however, if our 3rd party vendor does not have an accurate record of the IP address to determine the location, Google Analytics will display a “(not set)” entry.”
