Technology is everywhere and it is advancing at an increasingly alarming rate, taking control and monitoring every minute of our lives… 1984 style! Yet, we are more than willing to tell the world everything by being very social.
We are attached to our mobile phones, but can you cope without your phone whilst you’re behind the wheel? Or… Do you driving distracted?
It is because of this technology and the way we use it that a survey was conducted by ingenie, which found that many young drivers were using social applications on their mobile phones whilst driving. To highlight this issue they have put together the following infographic as part of a campaign to stop people driving distracted. This campaign is encouraging people to socially pledge not to use their phones whilst driving. Get involved using #DontDriveDistracted.
Well, after so many years since Angry Birds first came out, Rovio finally decided to provide a service for its gamers to sync their progress.
It was a long time coming and I am very happy that this finally got rolled out. While currently only the classic Angry Birds has this, I am sure its other games will follow suit.
It was especially tedious to having to back up my saved game data in Android and restoring them whenever I upgrade a new OS or if my device needs to be cleaned up because I use experimental nightly builds in my Galaxy S2.
This is definitely a huge help for players who want to keep their Angry Birds progress intact. Heck, I already cleared all its levels twice and I still was not able to back up my progress. At least this time, everything should be okay from here on out.
Registration is free so go ahead and register now. Sync your progress and never worry about restarting all over again.
Now, this was a surprise. Angry Birds and Star Wars. How can these two co-exist? Well, it seems Lucas Arts and Rovio found a way and I am uberly excited once it is available next month (November 8).
The game will show familiar scenes from Star Wars movies but the feel will still be true to the Angry Birds brand. The idea for the game came up around the time Rovio released Angry Birds Space, a collaboration with NASA.
The game will be based around the Angry Birds Space version of the title, with the birds replaced by Rebel Alliance stars like Luke, Han, Ben Kenobi and Leia, while the stormtrooper pigs will be marshalled by a suitably porcine version of Darth Vader.
The planets will be from the Star Wars universe like Tatooine and the icy planet Hoth. There have not been any teasers on how the game looks like but the cinematic intro for an Angry Bird jedi was awesome!
Now … will the birds be able to talk? Or will the pigs do … Maybe the pigs could say “May the pork be with you …”
