And we’re back people! Whew! That was a nasty mean downtime that my sites just experienced. Seems there were problems with the transformers where my sites’ hosting provider’s data centers are located that they had to turn everything down.

The most annoying part is that there was no news announcement in the hosting provider’s website. My hosting is HostMonster and I would not recommend you to get one. I am stuck with them since my blogs are pretty old it is quite a hassle to transfer to another hosting provider.

But really … not informing customers about this outage?! Not even a simple message in the website? I depend heavily on my blogs for monetization purposes and even a little downtime affects me a lot. Worse, this downtime took more than 4 hours. That is just bad!

Sigh … anyway … I am just glad that things are now back online and I can continue blogging again. Cheers everyone. Thank you for always visiting my sites. Do follow me in Google Connect and my RSS feeds to always get the latest posts.

technoratiTsk. So I guess it is confirmed. When my site went down because of the hosting provider’s system maintenance and upgrades, it affected my Technorati ranking immensely. I was surprised that most rankings in my sub-domains went down to more than a million. That is a pretty big leap. I thought, maybe Technorati’s side had a glitch or something. After a day, the rankings went back up. But not as near as the ones that my blogs currently had. One even had around 70k+ in rank and now it is at around 170k+.

Boo to my hosting provider. I emailed them about the downtime and they even told me that my sites should not be affected. Yeah right. Look what it did to my Technorati rankings. What a bummer. It will take months for me to get the Technorati rankings that I had before. Sigh*.

While i was busy sorting and configuring my wordpress blogs, my site went down all of a sudden. I said to myself, “not again! what’s going to be the reason this time?”. Having a short downtime I don’t mind. But more than 10 minutes??? No way! I finally emailed them after an hour. They never said anything regarding what the problem was other than an admin was on it and fixing the issue. I tried to login to their control panel and see what the error may be. Would you believe, overload? What the … The only thing I did the previous day was upload pics. That would be a lame reason for an overload. 4 hours passed … nothing. I had to email them back, told them I’m new with them and it’s only been a few weeks and this is the second downtime I have experienced with them, happened on a weekend and this one’s worse. It was boredom last night as I couldn’t do anything with my site, didn’t even bother checking if it’s alive after 6 hours. I went to sleep instead. And now, it’s back. They are pretty bad. If you plan to get your hosting with bluehost.com, don’t, they’re the same. They have disappointed me thus far but I will still monitor how it goes since I am still new with them.
