This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Snapdragon by Qualcomm for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

For 11 days, Qualcomm Stadium will be renamed to Snapdragon Stadium. Why the name change then?

Before that, a little bit of background. Snapdragon is the brand name for the company’s family of application processes that power today’s smartphone.

Snapdragon processors are the digital brains inside mobile devices made by top tier manufacturers like Samsung, LG, Nokia and HTC.

So, about the name change. The reason for this is that during this time the stadium will play host to football games where the San Diego Chargers will host a Sunday night game against Baltimore as well as two other college bowl games called the San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl on December 21 and the Bridgepoint Education Holiday Bowl on December 28.

I believe this name change is focused more on exposing the Snapdragon brand to a wide audience. Considering football is America’s number 1 sports, there will be so many people on hand to watch the games.

The Snapdragon application processor has many features similar to those of the ARM Cortex-A8 core and it is based on the ARM v7 instruction set, but theoretically has much higher performance for multimedia-related SIMD operations.

And you know smartphone these days, a fast hardware spec is necessary to handle loads of app requirements. Snapdragon processors by Qualcomm are the digital brains inside mobile devices made.
