So you decided to submit your existing Android app found in the Google Play Store to Samsung’s Galaxy Apps and you cannot seem to register it because the Samsung Seller Apps portal does not see the app you submitted as a Galaxy Special app.
Starting July 1, 2014 and onwards, the Samsung Seller Apps portal requires developer to submit their Android apps as a Samsung Galaxy Special app.
So what makes it a Samsung Galaxy Special app?
If you use any of the special Samsung Android APIs mentioned in their developer portal, then that makes it a Galaxy Special App. Partly that is.
Because what if you do not need any of their APIs? How can you still submit it for approval?
The solution is to add 1 uses-permission tag in the AndroidManifest.xml file
<uses-permission android:name="com.samsung.android.providers.context.permission.WRITE_USE_APP_FEATURE_SURVEY" />
There. You should now be able to submit your Android app as a Galaxy Special app in the Samsung Seller Portal.
