Wow! Seems Google is just getting started. Google announced Monday the fruits of its earlier deal with Twitter, showing off how it has decided to present real-time Internet content within search results. With Google real-time search, Google Labs also introduced a new service called Google Goggles.
Billions of images are stored in its database and Google will be able to identify the photo based on complex algorithms. While the technology does not include facial recognition, they showed a demo where a famous Japanese landmark photo was sent to Google Goggles to identify what it is and it identified it correctly.
This is already a step in the right direction. I am pretty sure in time they may include facial recognition. Nothing is impossible right? I am pretty impressed with what they are doing. While competitors showcase new features to try and gain a share in the search engine industry, Google still comes out on top with new features.
