After finishing the first game, I immediately downloaded the sequel because I simply enjoyed the first one. Broken Sword: The Smoking Mirror Remastered sees the return of George Stobbart and Nico Collard who happen to be in the middle of a drug ring while investigating a ruthless drug gang.
Here is a little summary from iTunes: Nico Collard unexpectedly comes across an ancient artifact. Little can she know that the ornately carved obsidian stone will lead her and her adventuring companion George Stobbart, into a mysterious escapade of intrigue and deceit in which they must overcome powerful forces and antagonists who will stop at nothing to fulfill their evil ambitions.
During the course of the game, you get to play either one of them on certain scenes since at one point, they both separate themselves to get the remaining two stones. Again, as with my complaint regarding the first game, there is no option to have the character move fast so it is quite time consuming just to watch the character move from one end to the other.
This was actually what happened when George was supposed to do something with the hill that looks like a needle. I simply forgot about it as I kept focusing on using the theodolite never wanting to go back to the cliff since it was time consuming. I had to grab a hint because I had no idea what to do since I never moved to another place.
This game has some scenes where you must act quickly or else your character will die. But do not worry since you can always start again to try and escape.
The game boasts fully animated facial expressions, enhanced graphics throughout, high quality music as well as a context-sensitive hint system and diary. It also features Dropbox integration which facilitates a unique cross-platform save-game feature, enabling players to enjoy the same adventure simultaneously on multiple devices, full Game Center integration – including in-game achievements – and many other enhancements.
