Microsoft Bans 1 Million Xbox Live Players

xboxGuess Microsoft really wanted to point out that piracy is illegal ;) . As many as 1 million users were banned from their Xbox service called Xbox Live because players had been found out that they altered their consoles to play pirated versions of its games.

This week, Activision’s new game “Call of Duty” was released and there were already pirated versions of it scattered around in the net even before its release. It is said that Microsoft was pressured by the game’s developer company to take action.

As to how long a player gets banned from Xbox Live, it depends on their end. Piracy is just one of the criteria that the people at Microsoft use as basis. Others can include threats, racism, profanity, and just being an all around poor sport and ruining the game for others. If you are an Xbox Live fanatic, you may think about altering your Xbox console or risk getting banned, even permanently!
